BETTER VALUE, BETTER OUTCOMES

Why a longer appointment can work out better value

Spending a little more time up front can save you time, money and frustration in the long run

ChatGPT Image Apr 26, 2026, 01_12_59 PM.png

Would eight sessions help — or would eight weeks have helped anyway?

Many musculoskeletal problems improve with time, good advice and appropriate activity.

The value of a proper first appointment is working out whether you need treatment, rehabilitation, reassurance, further investigation — or simply a clear plan and time.

Good care is not always more care. NICE MSK guidance supports advice, self-management and selective treatment as part of a broader plan.

THE FOUNDATION FOR BETTER RECOVERY

You are booking my clinical judgement, not a treatment label

Physiotherapy, clinical sports massage, shockwave therapy, aquatic rehabilitation and home visits are not separate products that patients are expected to choose before they have been properly assessed. They are treatment options — and the right option depends on what is actually driving the problem.

A 60-minute appointment gives time to listen properly, examine thoroughly, explain what is likely happening, and decide what is genuinely worth doing. That decision is shaped by more than 25 years of musculoskeletal clinical experience, not a tick-box template or a pre-sold treatment package.

Where appropriate, treatment will usually begin during the first appointment. That may include hands-on treatment, exercise-based rehabilitation, shockwave therapy, advice, imaging discussion, onward referral guidance, or sometimes no treatment at all. The point is not to keep you coming back by default. The point is to give you the clearest next step.

Assessment first. Treatment second. A clear plan always.

Not sure which option to book? Choose the closest fit. It can be adjusted after assessment.

Assess properly

A full 60 minutes gives time to listen, examine properly, and understand why the problem is behaving the way it is.

Explain clearly

You should leave knowing what is likely happening, what matters, what probably does not, and what your options are.

ChatGPT Image Apr 26, 2026, 02_12_00 PM.png

Treat appropriately

Treatment is used when it fits the findings — not because it was pre-sold, packaged, or guessed before assessment.

WHAT TYPE OF BOOKING DO YOU MAKE?

Choose the appointment route that best fits your situation

You do not need to diagnose yourself before booking.

Choose the option that seems closest to your problem. Most clinic-based appointments are 60 minutes and charged at the same rate, so if assessment shows that a different route is more appropriate, we can adjust the plan.

You are not expected to know the right treatment pathway before you have been properly assessed. Working that out is part of what you are paying for.
